Artist Names

This is a rather controversial topic, all I’m doing is passing you the infromation to get better in making AI Art - and part of that process is using artist names.

I do understand the artists point of view & I hope in the future we will find a way to make the best out of both worlds instead of fighting each other.

I have great respect for artists & find great joy in finding new ones and learning more about them.

I believe in the near future artists will understand that AI Art will give them a way to get better jobs & recognition, without the hassle of becoming famous.

I’ll expand more on that one day ;)

For now let’s learn how to make some amazing things!

It makes all the difference.

Without artist names in your prompt - You’re playing in Default mode.

Think about it, every time you write a prompt and don’t use an artist name - you are giving the Midjourney algorithm around 90% control over the results.

Why would you do that if there are over 2000+ artist names that you can put in your prompt in order to take them to an interesting place?

Let’s do a small test:

You can immediately tell how adding peter mohrbacher’s (who’s a cool guy and actually supports AI Art!) changed absolutely everything.

It doesn’t only change the art style, it also shows how the AI version of peter mohrbacher would depict “elegance”.

I want you to think about it and what it means.

It means you can tap in to every artist who ever existed brain - and paint every possible scenario with their “AI Brain” guiding the artistic & philosophical direction.

It’s more than just their art style, in a way it somehow understands how they see the world.

Now let’s do that exact same prompt again, but let’s just add an artist’s name!

Two elegant brothers by peter mohrbacher

Here’s our good old brothers prompt:

Two elegant brothers

I’ll finish this chapter by directing you to one of my youtube videos that expand on this topic and shows you a cool way to test different artist names & understand their “AI Brain”:
