PerfectMan Wins the $35,000 Dor Awards

Dexerto covered the close of The Dor Awards, the AI film festival The Dor Brothers built around a 35,000 dollar prize pool split 20,000 for first, 10,000 for second and 5,000 for third.

Entrants had one to three minutes and three possible themes to work with: door, twins or trophy. Hundreds of films came in. Ten finalists made the cut.

The judges

The panel included Grimes, Logan Paul, Oliver Tree, Oscar winning writer Roger Avary and Kill Tony co-host Brian Reddan, among other creators.

The winning film

First place went to PerfectMan by Ofri Margalit and Omer Eventov, a technological horror short built on the door theme. Logan Paul called it beautiful and creepy, a future not too distant. Roger Avary praised its emotional narrative and said it was a film that had something to say. Grimes, in her first ever reaction video, called the work beautiful.

Torii by Danny Tseng took second with a found footage horror entry, and Back Door by Mathieu Samson took third with satirical sci-fi. Read the full recap by Michael Gwilliam at Dexerto.
